AWLA’s Network of Women panel is a network of volunteer women lawyers who are willing to listen and provide support on a confidential basis on the issue of sexual harassment, sexual assault or other inappropriate behaviour (including workplace bullying).
If you have experienced inappropriate behaviour and have an issue you would like to discuss, you can receive a list of our NOW panel members by emailing now@awla.nz. Your email does not need to provide any specifics or context – it can merely be a blank email or a request for the list of our NOW panellists without anything more.
Our panel members have a varying range of backgrounds and experience and you can then decide which person you would like to contact.
Any discussion with a panel member will be confidential and all our panel members have signed a confidentiality statement to that effect. A standard version of this statement is available for you to review here.
How things progress from there is entirely up to you. Your panel member will listen to you, provide you with support, and help you take whatever steps you want to take, if any. You are not obligated to take any further steps, and your panel member will not do anything with what you tell them that you do not want them to do.
The general guidelines for NOW, our privacy policy statement and a resource document which has been provided to all our panellists is available for you to review here and here.
Should you have any other questions or if you would like to volunteer to be a NOW panellist, please do not hesitate to contact us at now@awla.nz.
