Treaty Principles Bill submissions

AWLA tautoko the voices in opposition to the Treaty Principles Bill and the mahi of all who have participated in Hīkoi mō te Tiriti.

This Bill threatens to undermine the very core of te Tiriti o Waitangi and the Treaty of Waitangi by redefining its principles in a way that weakens rights and protections that were promised by the Crown in 1840.

AWLA firmly supports an Aotearoa New Zealand where te Tiriti is upheld with tangata tiriti recognising and committing to an equitable and respectful relationship with tangata whenua. Toitū te Tiriti.

AWLA filed submissions in opposition to the Principles of the Treaty of Waitangi Bill, these can be read below.
