The Auckland Women Lawyers Association is proud to announce that it now taking entries for its 2021 Writing Prize. This prize aims to foster and reward research and writing on the intersection of the law and issues of concern to women and/or women and children. All law students (including LLB, LLB (Hons), LLM and PhD) at the University of Auckland and Auckland University of Technology are eligible.
To apply, you must submit one 3,000 word essay on the intersection of the law and issues of concern to women and/or women and children, which complies with the New Zealand Law Style Guide. The word count is a maximum limit with a 20% discount below. Please attach a covering letter and a 250 word abstract of your work, along with the completed application form and a signed letter of declaration.
A member from NZ Women’s Law Journal team may be included in the judging panel.
The winner of the Writing Prize will be awarded $1,000 and the best entrant from each of the University of Auckland and Auckland University of Technology may be entered for selection for publication in the New Zealand Women’s Law Journal – Te Aho Kawe Kaupapa Ture a ngā Wāhine.
