President: Angela Stafford | Vice-President: Kristin Bradley

The 2015 theme was seize your agenda, in recognition of it being the time for women to take the lead and set our own agenda. This theme encompassed the idea that every woman has a different and personal meaning of success, and every person takes a different path to work towards this.

Hon. Justice Anne Hinton gave the President’s function address.

Natalya King’s book ‘Raising the Bar: Women in Law and Business’ was published. This detailed that as of February 2014, 46 per cent of lawyers were women. However, out of firms with over 20 partners, women made up 20 per cent of  the partnership. In firms with less than 20 partners, women made up 24 per cent of the partnership.

King’s book described survey results that 26.1 per cent of male respondents earned over $250,000 per year, whereas only 6 per cent of women who responded earned more than this number.

Seminars this year covered topics ranging from getting paid for what you are worth, to animal law and achieving equilibrium.

Hon. Justice Cheryl Gwyn presented at the Dame Silvia Cartwright lecture.

Chaturika Jayasinghe and Alice Krzanich “Seizing the Agenda of Flexi-Work” Auckland Women Lawyers’ Association Newsletter (Auckland, July 2015) at 8.
