AWLA is pleased to announce Mai Chen (LLB(Hons) (Otago) LLM (Harvard) CMinstD) as our guest speaker at the AWLA Cultural Extravaganza. The University of Otago will award Mai an honourary Doctorate of Laws in December 2023.
She will address us on the following topic:
“Without a diverse profession, the (statutory and common) law is unable to serve all New Zealanders – Filling the gaps in common law created by new situations raised by tikanga and super diverse language and cultures.”

Please support our goal of raising money from ticket sales. Our scholarship fund will help a young female student to attend Law School at Auckland University.
