Earlier this month, AWLA filed submissions to the Select Committee in support of the Crimes Legislation (Stalking and Harassment) Amendment Bill.
The submissions supported the spirit of the Bill in outlawing stalking recognising the importance in protecting victims. AWLA recommended strengthening the Bill by lowering the threshold for stalking behaviour, expanding protections to victims associates, and ensuring police actions provide victims safety.
