THIS EVENT IS NOW FULL – REGISTRATIONS ARE CLOSED – THANK YOU!
Thanks to Covid, Siouxsie needs no introduction. Despite being a microbiologist and bioluminescence enthusiast, to many she is “that pink-haired science lady” who fronted up daily at times before, during and post-lockdown in a bid to communicate science in clear and accessible language.
Siouxsie was also a target for those who like their scientists to be stale, pale, males and preferably in a white coat. She is the star of a short film by Gwen Issac, Siouxsie and the Virus https://loadingdocs.net/siouxsie/
She has won numerous awards and accolades for her career and commitment to communicating science and in 2019 was appointed a member of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to microbiology and science communication.
Drinks and nibbles on from 5:30, with the lecture starting around 6pm.
