As most of you are aware, Fiji is a beautiful small island nation in the South Pacific Ocean.
The COVID-19 pandemic presented Fiji with an economic crisis of unprecedented scale. There was a ripple effect on every aspect of life in Fiji, particularly on those who were already living in poverty.
One of our AWLA committee members, Anjeet Singh (Anj Singh), is leading an effort to raise money to support law students at The University of Fiji, with a special focus on female students. Donations will be used to purchase legal resources for the students at the University. In addition to this, donations will be used to contribute towards the tuition fees of 5 female law students.
AWLA members have always generously supported the initiatives put forward by the AWLA committee.
We encourage AWLA members to provide what financial support they can give as soon as possible. Time is of the essence as the donations will be distributed to those in need in the first week of July 2022.
We have 22 days starting from today to raise money for our “For Fiji” project. We are counting on you to help us make this fundraising project a success.
Your donations will help the disadvantaged get access to the education they deserve.
